Today, May 29, 2023, Nigeria’s presidential inauguration ceremony leads the APC’s presidential candidate and president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the concluded Nigeria’s election to presidential villa – Aso Rock in Abuja.
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Tinubu had a successful contest among other presidential candidates, in the February’s election with 8, 794, 726 votes to defeat his closest counterparts in the likes of Atiku Abubakar of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi of Labour Party (LP) and Rabiu Kwankwaso of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP). Though, this win is currently a subject of litigation in Nigeria’s Apex court.
The latest Nigeria’s president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu seized the opportunity to state how he intended to tackle some critical economic problems in Nigeria, during his inaugural address.

In his address, he expressed his appreciation to his staunch supporters and fellow citizens and further added that Nigerians shouldn’t pity him, having adequately aware of the present economic challenges before applying for the role.
He stated that the ever-controversial subsidy on petroleum products could no longer sustain Nigeria’s natural resources amidst Nigeria’s major drawback on the security and economy. “Fuel subsidy is gone”, Tinubu affirmed.
“Our administration will govern you and only on your behalf; we will never rule over you. “We shall consult and dialogue but never dictate; reach out, run but never pull down a single person who holds a contrary view from ours. “Nation’s journey is shaped by sacrifices”. Bola Tinubu said to the invited dignitaries and Nigerians.
He solicited overall economic collaboration, social cohesion, and cultural understanding beyond a nation on paper in order to develop fairness and equality in the country.
Tinubu assured Nigerians, says, “I assure you that the mandate you have given me isn’t misplaced, the confidence is there, hope is back for Nigerians, just let us be united”.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by different dignitaries from different continents in the world.

Sooner after the inauguration, former president Muhammadu Buhari departed presidential villa, Abuja for his home town, Daura in Katsina State, where he promised to embark on farming.
